Mission Statement

SHALOM’S Mission

Christian people working with caring communities to provide housing, social and educational opportunities for adults with developmental, physical, emotional and mental disabilities.

To accomplish our mission, SHALOM will:

• Maintain a family living environment that will encourage a vital and productive lifestyle for adults with disabilities, encouraging work and/or educational opportunities.

• Recognize the importance and value of the whole person and create a nurturing environment for adults with disabilities, through the love of Christ.

• Integrate community, free enterprise, unique talents and extended family, thereby cultivating sufficient resources to fulfill its mission and enable adults with disabilities to experience SHALOM - Peace within.

• Provide opportunities of recreation, travel and experience for adults with disabilities in our community with volunteers, community leaders and caregivers.

Faith Statement

SHALOM’S Statement of Faith

We believe in the unique, divine inspiration, full trustworthiness and authority of the Holy Bible.

We believe in the deity of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We believe in the necessity and efficacy of the subsitutionary death of Jesus Christ for the redemption of the world and historical fact of His bodily resurrection.

We believe in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration and the manifestation of spiritual gifts that come from the indwelling of the Spirit.

We believe in the expectation and the personal return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21
